Summary

  • The newly renovated casino is located at the racetrack in east Vinewood Hills, by the highway. It is owned by Tao Cheng.
  • Brucie is making a return as a character in this update
  • In the casino you can play a number of games, including:
    • Three Card Poker
    • Blackjack
    • Roulette
    • Slot Machines
    • Retro Arcade Games (?)
  • There is a wheel you can spin once per day in order to earn prizes like RP, GTA$, discounts, clothing, and even high-end vehicles.
  • There is a horse-racing and betting component, although it is unclear if it is only simulated and interacted with via the "Inside Track" room of the casino, or if the horse racing actually takes place in the game world, instanced or not.
  • The casino has a penthouse/residential component to it. Owners of the Master Penthouse can upgrade their residence with a private spa, a bar and party area, and a media room. Residents will also be able to spend chips on art and collectibles at the Casino Store which can be used to decorate the penthouse.
  • As a penthouse resident, you will get access to the business aspect of the casino, requiring you to work with Cheng to prevent a rich Texan family from taking over the casino. In addition to this storyline, you can do side jobs for the casino to earn GTA$ and chips.
  • The casino has a store that accepts chips as payment. You can use the chips to buy collectibles and decorations for your penthouse as well as clothing and accessories.

If you think I should add something to the summary, please let me know in the comments.

Also, if there is any other detailed information I can include elsewhere, I'd love to hear it. Particularly in analyzing the videos and screenshots and identifying new cars, etc.

Dude makes a nuisance of himself, gets too high, and ends up banned and in the hospital.

Quick preface: I was talking with someone on another sub and remembered this old encounter. At the time I worked security for a casino/racetrack/hotel. About half my shifts involved standing at a podium at the hotel entrance from the casino, largely to deter people from doing stupid shit at the check-in counter.
You know those people that as soon as you see them you know they're going to either make themselves a problem or they're going to do something so monumentally stupid it'll become a problem for everyone around? This guy was the personification of that phenomenon. Super sketchy dude walks in, goes straight to the counter. No bags or luggage, wearing a hoodie in 95-100°f weather. He immediately has my notice, but people are weird, so unless he does something he's fine. In under a minute he was screaming at the top of his lungs that the employee was a racist for IDing him (the guy was white, the employee was hispanic).
He now has my full attention. I walk over and ask what the issue is. Abridged version of the conversation is that the guy keeps screaming until the hotel supervisor gets involved. Supervisor gives him a discount on an already cheap room to get him to shut the fuck up. Dude tells me to get his bags. Haha fuck no. So I brush it off and go back to my station. Dude eventually comes back down and starts shouting at me because his stuff hasn't been brought up yet. He gets thiiiiiis close to getting his ass thrown out so hard he would've bounced twice, but unfortunately the policy is that the Hotel Supervisor has to okay any such actions, which effectively means that it has to go much, much further than it should before we can remove people. Finally the guy goes and talks to the folks who are paid (not nearly enough) to wheel his stuff up. All is good. For a few hours.
It's getting toward the end of my shift and things are starting to slow down a bit. A call comes in on the radio that someone reported a naked man (which turned out to be an exaggeration) in the 5th floor hallway. I go up, lo and behold it's Fuckwit McGee again, this time standing in the middle of the hallway, pants around his ankles (thankfully wearing boxers that weren't down), and completely spaced out. My first question was along the lines of "sir, are you okay?" His response? To repeat "what?" Over and over and over again. I ask his name. His response? "What's your name?"
Of course ambulance is called. While we wait, another guy gets out of the elevator and exclaims "Tim (pseudonym of course), what the fuck man?" Turned out the guy was on vacation with his bother and sister-in-law who were having fun gambling and watching the races. His brother pulls his pants up for him and we get him shuffling to the brother's room which wasn't too far, and sit him down in a chair. We couldn't get anything out of him about what he may have taken and the brother didn't know (could've been lying, but I believe him).
The ambulance arrives, they get him gurnied up, and wheeled off. Last I heard about it it turned out he had taken a shitload of pcp (iirc) and went into cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital, but they were able to save him. The Hotel Supervisor showed up as he was being wheeled out the main door and told me to have the guy added to the ban list. He should've been banned before he even checked in, but whatever, it's not like common sense is very common with the higher-ups in that company.
Not necessarily the weirdest event I had there, or the dumbest, but it certainly ranks in the top 10.

Questions about mid-Ohio (Columbus/Cleveland) casinos

My wife and I have been spoiled living in SW Michigan over the last 10 years. We have 3 casinos within 40 minutes of us and another 2 just over an hour if we drive to the MI/IN line. Most of them have $5 dollar tables at some point during the week/weekend and some all of the time.
I'm deep into an interview that would put me between Columbus and Cleveland. I like that Ohio has no smoking in their casinos. I've been to a Hollywood Casino before in Toledo. Seemed like during the week there were $5 tables before 5 and they go up to $10 or higher at night. I've never been not he weekend.
I read that when Columbus opened their tables were 15/25 most of the time, but that seems to have died down. What are their table minimums like and do they ever have $5 tables?
I haven't been to any of the casinos (Jack Cleveland, or the racinos) so I know nothing about them. What can you tell me?
I looked at the drives from where we would be living. We might look at going to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh (a city that I love and miss living in). Don't know much about that place as it was built after I moved away. We also could look at Moutaineer RaceTrack in northern WV.
If all else fails, we will look at driving to Wheeling, WV to go to Wheeling Island as we know they always have lower minimums.
Thanks for your information and I look forward to rolling the dice with you.

MAME 0.198

It’s the day you’ve been eagerly awaiting all month: MAME release day! MAME 0.198, our May release, is packed full of improvements in lots of areas. Newly supported arcade games include the rare video pinball game Tom Tom Magic, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu EX ’98, and Keirin Ou. Newly supported computers include the TI-99/2, Dragon MSX-64, and BBC Master 512.
This release brings graphics emulation improvements to a number of systems, including more fixes for Sega Saturn/ST-V, missing effects emulated in 1945k III, and improvements to the title screen in Wolf Fang. The SH-4 recompiler now supports more FPU opcodes directly, and NAOMI keyboards are supported. Low-level floppy drive emulation improvements bring improved compatibility for Apple II software. Newly supported peripherals include a PC ISA LBA BIOS card, the Beeb Speech Synthesiser, and a number of BBC Micro pointing devices.
Other additions include new Tiger handhelds (Batman: The Animated Series, Operation: Aliens, Wayne’s World, and X-Men), the Fidelity Elegance and Prestige chess computers, and alternate versions of Battle Balls, Centipede, Final Fight, Karate Blazers, Last Mission, Real Puncher, Sengoku 3, Spy Hunter, and World Heroes 2. There are lots of additions to the Apple II cassette software list, and several additions to the Sorcerer cassette software list as well. MAME now supports Korean user interface thanks to a contribution from Neius.
For developers, we’ve fixed some issues in the debugger affecting CPUs that use word addressing, and the source list is sorted more intuitively in memory windows. We’ve made a number of changes to how machine configuration works to make driver development more intuitive and less error-prone.
Of course, you can get source and Windows binaries from the download page.
